More information on www.tomplay.com .</p> <p></p> <p><strong>Job role and responsibilities: </strong></p> <p>As part of a cross-functional team including our web lead developer, database engineer and app developer, you will contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of our website. This is a dynamic role involving front-end, with a primary focus on delivering engaging, modern user experiences. Your main responsibility will be the following:</p> <ul><li>Develop and support clean, W3C-compliant front-end code that aligns with stakeholder specifications. Prioritize web standards, semantics, usability, accessibility, and performance optimization.</li><li>Build adaptive web pages for desktop, tablet and mobile using custom CSS solutions and frameworks like Bootstrap.</li><li>Work on supporting and implementing interactive musical instruments using JavaScript.</li><li>Implement analytics tagging and ensure accurate data capture.</li><li>Collaborate on the selection and implementation of development tools, technologies, and processes.</li><li>Serve as a key point of contact for technical projects across teams — participating in requirement gathering, execution, and deployment phases.</li></ul> <p><strong>What we require from you: </strong></p> <p></p> <p><strong>Strong skills in HTML5 and CSS3</strong>: Able to create responsive, cross-browser layouts without relying on frameworks like Bootstrap, Tailwind, or similar.</p> <p><strong>Excellent command of Vanilla JavaScript (ES6+)</strong>: Comfortable working without libraries or frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.</p> <p><strong>Solid understanding of SEO best practices</strong>: Includes proper heading structure, page speed optimization, and content accessibility.</p> <p><strong>Experience in site performance optimization</strong>: Techniques such as minimizing DOM usage and implementing lazy loading of resources.</p> <p><strong>Ability to work with legacy code</strong>: Capable of understanding structure, refactoring, and maintaining existing solutions.</p> <p><strong>Experience with Alpine.js</strong> (or similar lightweight JavaScript frameworks for streamlined logic).</p> <p><strong>Recent hands-on experience with Vanilla JavaScript is a must</strong> — we are not considering candidates who only work with frameworks or haven’t used Vanilla JS recently.</p> <p><strong>Familiarity with performance optimization tools</strong> such as YSlow and Google PageSpeed Insights.</p> <p><strong>Strong working knowledge of Git</strong> for version control.</p> <p><strong>Excellent English communication skills</strong> — precise, open-minded, and solution-oriented.
